"Presenting...Dio"

After numerous visits where Dio neglected to make an appearance, I finally got lucky and managed to take some photos of Dio! The lady in the pictures is Dio's 'owner' or better to say the main person who takes care of Dio, as Dio is a street cat and doesn't really have an owner.
I'd like to thank everyone (on Dio's behalf) who helped raise money for Dio's operation and aftercare by buying a tote bag, donating money, re-posting or helping to spread the word!

Apart from a slightly wonky face - Dio is totally recovered, she can eat normally and do all the stuff that she enjoyed doing before her accident. She lives in a colony of cats in the Athens neighbourhood of Petralona which is not such a bad place to live as I live there myself...

Hello Sunshine

Hello... I'm back in Athens, not a grey cloud in sight and it's still nice and warm! Photos of Dio will be posted up soon. I went to visit her and she is doing great. Missing Athens ALOT

I am away from Athens for a while so there will be no regular posts until September. Being in rainy London really makes me miss the climate and the street life and of course the cats in my neighborhood - Petralona.  For all you cat lovers out there, I have a new item in my etsy shop - The Cat Lovers 'Huggable' Cat Pack. Thank you everyone who donated towards Dio's operation and sent lovely words of support. We raised enough money for the operation and had a little left for the aftercare also! Dio has had the operation and is recovering at home - I visited her yesterday. She can now eat soft food - Yay! and lies in the garden relaxing in the shade. No photos yet as Dio is still not looking her best - I will post one up soonish. The ChipIn is still going until the 22nd of July so if you want to donate something towards Dio's aftercare or towards Greek street cats in general please don't hold back - any donation however small is welcome ;) Thanks again everyone!

ChipIn Fundraiser for Rescue Cat

We are holding a 'ChipIn' fundraiser for a local street cat that was hit by a car on Tuesday night in the Athens neighbourhood of Petralona. The poor kitty had her jaw broken and needs a 300 euro operation to survive. The cat's name is DIO or two because she has two brown dots on her back. She is one and a half years old and mostly white. Some photos to follow. You can 'Chip In' and donate some money by using the ChipIn gadget below. The donation will go into my paypal account and I will give it directly to the owner. All donations welcome however big or small.

I printed it yesterday and at the same time a neighbourhood cat was hit by a car and needs an expensive operation on her jaw. So, half the proceeds from the bag goes to the operation. Lets hope she survives.
